Literacy Activity Book - Primary Edition (K-3)
Each Reading Kit comes with a supplemental "Literacy Activity Book - Primary Edition", suitable for grades K to 3 to enrich your boys early literacy learning environment. The exciting and highly visual play-by-play action from each sports story is integrated into all of the supplemental literacy activities.
This reproducible book contains seatwork exercises levelled into three sections; Beginning, Emerging and Extended to offer teachers skill level variability for their students. Letter identification, letter sounds, oral language, printing, rhyming, visual sequencing and comprehension are early literacy skills covered by the activities. A fourth section offers additional fun and creative activities to foster further student literacy growth, expression and creativity.
The large format Big Book of each sports story included in our Reading Kits is a fabulous read aloud for primary students engaging the boys and kick starting the eventual follow-up literacy activities provided in this resource.

Higher Level Thinking & Writing Skills Workbook -Junior Level Edition (3-6)
Each Reading Kit now includes a "Higher Level Thinking & Writing Skills Workbook" appropriate for grades 3 to grade 6. This supplemental resource is designed to support the writing development of students while engaging them in three distinct higher-level thinking skills. Three sections, Analysing, Evaluating and Creating include three kinds of writing assignments. They offer the students the opportunity to analyse, evaluate and create responses to stimulating questions, problems and scenarios. A fourth section contains additional fun and creative activities.
This resource covers three distinct higher level thinking skills, Analysing, Evaluating and Creating while creating an opportunity for boys to explore and express themselves while developing their writing skills. The open ended nature of the activities are very adaptable to grades 3 to 6 as they allow students to tailor a written response within the parameters of their current writing and expressive language skills. The engagement of boys with these sports themed higher level thinking and writing activities provides the potential for significant growth in both their expressive written language skills and their higher level thinking skills.
